Shelter (ultimate escape)

Here comes the rain again...

Again, we've got you covered.  Literally.

  • Frogg Toggs UltraLite Poncho - I love these poncho's.  The material is quiet so you can hear yourself think while walking in the rain.  It's a one-size-fits-all and is roomy enough to cover you and  your backpack.  Holds up well as a reusable  item -  I have personally used mine afield 4 times, refolded it after each use once dried and still looks new.
  • Foil Mylar Rescue Blanket - surprisingly good at reflecting heat for how thin and light these blankets are and proves to be an effective windbreak.
  • Cigarette Case Sized Dry Box, Tinderbox,  Bic Lighter and Waterproof Matches - included under shelter is fire for heat and cooking.  This pair is your good ol' faithful bic lighter and safety matches.  Use the tin box to store primed tinder for the next fire.  I like to fill it with some coals from last fire and dry grass and twigs.  You can always throw some dryer lint in there to start as well.  Use the dry box to carry your lighter, matches and flint or use for other purposes.
  • Premium Ferro Rod w/ Jumbo Tinder Rope - there is something primal about starting a fire from flint and steel.  If you run out of dry tinder this gives you a safety valve .  Simply scrape a pile of magnesium into some leaves and jumpstart your next fire.  The Tinder Rope acts as a candle to keep the flame alive until you get rolling.
  • Heat Resistant Glove - life saver when you're trying to cook by fire.
  • 2-person Hammock - 500 lb capacity hammock excellent for relaxing with your feet up, sleeping under the stars or cover up with your tent draped over another line to sleep off the wet ground.  Practically, a mental health "must-have".
  • Camp Axe w/ sheath - if you've done much camping you know this ubiquitous axe.  Commonly used to drive tent spikes in the ground and then go bust up some kindling.  Also doesn't hurt that it's presence may dissuade the wrong kind from thinking you are an undefended target.
  • Zippo TMK Matches w/ Case - these are the impossible to blow out matches even if you dunk them in water.  This brand has the best designed case including a strike plate on bottom with waterproof rubber cover.
  • 3-Legged Camp Stool - not necessary but sure does make tending your fire or cooking so much more bearable.
  • Wool Blanket, Fire Retardant - again back to the basics of an Army issued wool blanket to keep you warm even when its wet.
  • Emergency Tent - This is an upgraded emergency tent, it has no poles, installs like a tube tent but has enclosed ends and corner stakes.  Prevents the wind from blowing through your tent and keeps the bugs and varmints out.
  • Foldable shovel - this is a small shovel to reduce weight, but will make digging out a shelter much more efficient.

Due to supply chain challenges: Actual shipped products may vary from description/picture based on availability.  They will be like product of equal value.
